Applying for Research, Creative Arts and Conference Grants for Undergraduates
No matter which grant you apply for, you need to understand thoroughly the three phases of the grant process. The following is what is required of you in each phase:
Preparing to Apply
- Review the UAR timeline for the grant application process and structure your grant preparations accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with the three categories of eligibility: student, project and faculty mentor.
- Fulfill requirements for off-campus research.
- Obtain human subjects approval.
- Consult the Checklist for Applications and plan for completing each step.
Applying for the Grant
- Write the student research grant proposal OR
- Write the student creative arts grant proposal OR
- Write the conference travel grant proposal.
- Construct a reasonable and appropriate budget for your proposal.
- Obtain a letter of support from a faculty mentor.
- Submit the application for a research, creative arts or conference grant.
- Return to the Checklist for Applications to make sure your application is complete.
