How Should I Use Tutoring?
To get the most out of your time with a tutor, prepare ahead for the session. The tutor will ask what you want to work on, so come knowing what you want to accomplish with the tutor. You might come...
- To work through a question on a problem set
- To review for a test
- To talk through a concept you covered in lecture, lab, or reading
- To organize class material and create study tools
- To practice speaking a foreign language
- To talk about your Psych1 Research & Writing Project

CTL Drop-in Hours
No appointment is needed for drop-in tutoring. Just show up at the designated location and sign in!

- Go to sututor.stanford.edu to log in through WebAuth.
- Once you log in, go to the Go To... drop-down menu and select Make Appointment.
- Pick a range of dates.
- Search for the course in which you want help.
- Look for any dates and times marked with a "D" for drop-in.
Group Study Sessions
NEW in 2009: Group study sessions can be scheduled with a tutor. Gather your friends or join an existing group!

- Go to sututor.stanford.edu to log in through WebAuth.
- Once you log in, go to the Go To… drop-down menu and select Make Appointment.
- Pick a range of dates.
- Search for the course in which you need help.
- Select a time for a group appointment, indicated by a capital "G".
- Click the time you want.
- Click the Save button and you're all set. You will receive a confirmation email.
- If space remains, tell your friends and they can sign up for the same session!
One-on-One Appointments

- Select a time for individual tutoring, indicated by a capital "I".
- Click the time you want.
- Click the Save button and you're all set. You will receive a confirmation email.

- Athletic Academic Resource Center (AARC)
The AARC offers tutoring services for Stanford athletes. Math, Physics, Economics, Writing, Chemistry and Engineering tutors are available weekday evenings at the AARC during drop-in hours. Contact Keiko Price (keikop@stanford.edu, 723-5806) to discuss your needs.

The Physics Department offers free drop-in tutoring for students in the 20s and 40s series.
- Stanford University Mathematical Organization (SUMO)
During Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, SUMO offers free tutoring for MATH51, 52, and 53 students. Tutoring is from 6:00-10:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays in 380- 381T . - School of Engineering Tutoring (for advanced coursework)
If CTL does not offer tutoring in the Engineering course in which you need help, please contact tutoringhelp@stanford.edu. CTL and Stanford Engineering's Office of Student Affairs (OSA) will work together to try and find a tutor for you.
